About the Edublog Awards

The Edublog Awards is a community-based incentive started in 2004 in response to community concerns relating to how schools, districts and educational institutions were blocking access of learner and teacher blog sites for educational purposes.

The purpose of the Edublog awards is to promote and demonstrate the educational values of these social media.

The best aspects include that it creates a fabulous resource for educators to use for ideas on how social media is used in different contexts, with a range of different learners.

It introduces us all to new sites that we might not have found if not for the awards process.

The Edublog Awards consists of three stages:

  1. Nominations – open in late November
  2. Voting – starts in early December
  3. Winners Announced – mid-December

  2. This about page says that “results will not be displayed” but I can clearly see which nominee has the most votes in a category and who has cast those votes. Am I missing something? Not sure I like this format…

    • Hi there,

Looks like the about page hasn’t been updated and is following last year’s voting procedures. We’ll take a look! Also, appreciate the feedback as well. Thanks!

  3. Hi There

Thanks for making us aware that we hadn’t updated the information on the About page. I’ve now updated the page to reflect the changes to voting and winners announcement.

There has been differing opinions about the voting process. Those that like the change to Listly feel it makes the voting more transparent, and people more accountable.

  4. Where is the nomination form?? It says use the nomination form at the bottom of the nomination post – were is the post?

    thanks,

    deirdre

  5. When the nominations open, will it be announced on this page and can we nominate blogs on this page?

    Thanks,
    Karen
